Christie's has been a Burlingame gem for quite a while! Tucked in a small location on California Ave is some of the best breakfasts around these parts.

I always go for the counter at most diners. Their service is great; the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I am never disappointed here! As soon as I sat, I was greeted and asked if I wanted something to drink. Food came out in a timely fashion with a smile.

My usual go-to is country-fried steak. I wanted to try something different and after viewing a fellow Yelper, I decided to order the Avocado Toast with eggs. The avocado toast came with smashed avocado, sliced tomato, eggs however you prefer (I chose over easy for maximum yolkage), and they top it off with some everything bagel seasoning. I also ordered a side of bacon so that I could slide those bad boys in under the tomato. The food was great! I will order this again next time for sure! ...maybe with the country-fried steak as a "side". =)

This place is always busy. Expect some crowd noise as people are meeting friends and family there who are excited to eat great food! I honestly enjoy the noise! People are generally happy here.
I'll let you decide on the noise grade. For me it's great!

Hubby and I enjoyed another terrific lunch yesterday. He had Hash Benedict and I had Vegetarian Scramble.  Portions are large, which is awesome.  All the staff at Christie's are friendly and prompt.  We've eaten at this family-owned restaurant for many years and have never been disappointed!

Order:
* Two Banana Strawberry Nutella Crepes
* Chicken Fried Steak

Pros:
* Homey diner style inside with a bar top (which I always appreciate) plus some outdoor seating.
* Our server was very polite.
* Menu covers all the greatest hits and then some including sweet/savory combos, which I find a lot of breakfast joints don't offer.
* Chicken fried steak had a thin, yet crispy exterior even after covered in gravy.  Steak was very tender.
* Crepes also cooked well, generous size and very tasty.

Cons:
* Our food took slightly unexpectedly long, I think 20 minutes with the restaurant half full.  I don't keep track, but it felt a bit longer than average.  The server actually apologized for the delay so I guess he felt it too.
* I like my crepes a little bit more brown on the outside, these are a bit more pale, but still tasty.

Comments:
* 4.5 stars if I could.  I'm not sure you should drive to another county to eat here, but definitely worth checking out if you want a very good hearty breakfast.

Stopped in for brunch today with the family.  We ordered a few American scrambles, NY steak sandwich and NY steak lunch plate.  Our food came out fairly quick and the steaks were cooked to our liking, medium.  The NY steak sandwich was delicious, I'll definitely order this again.  The NY steak plate was a bigger cut than the sandwich but understandable and it was equally good.  First time I took my parents here and they both enjoyed it.  Good service as usual.

First visit at Christie's. Came for brunch and didn't realize they were closing in 30 mins. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated right away. Staff didn't rush us at all and gave us time to look at the menu. They even took in two more groups after us and the staff didn't complain. I've seen that in the past at other restaurants which I get, they want to go home. Not here at Christie's.

The food was good and the amount they give, wow! The only thing I'd say was a negative was that the toast came separate, which was the first for me. It was an additional $3. Normally, toast is included at other places but they still deserve a 5 star. Why? Because they have exceptional service and good food. Parking was easy and although space was small inside, I didn't feel cramped or crowded.  

I'm definitely coming back!

Happened upon Christie's as I was in the area. The place was incredibly busy during brunch time, which caught my attention. For a party of 4 we only waited around 15 minutes on a weekend. Parking is plentiful, although you may have to park and walk a bit.

What I ordered:
- Christie's Skillet (5/5) - DELICIOUS is all I can say. What a simple yet well done dish. The potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. It had just the right amounts of everything. Not too much cheese, and a good amount of sausage! Just add some hot sauce and its a delicious meal. Portion was quite large, I couldn't even finish this plate myself.
- Mexican Scramble - My boyfriend ordered this dish, and I only tried a little bit but wow. The same level of tasty as the skillet. Hash browns were also super crispy!

Christie's is a small homestyle breakfast joint that I would definitely return to!
